Litti chokha recipe | how to make bihari litti chokha | baati chokha is North Indian traditional recipe which is prepared by people mostly in U.P, Bihar, states in India. First time, I have eaten litti aloo chokha recipe in my mom's sister house and I liked it very much. She used to prepare this recipe by fring bati's in oil but if you have oven it is very easy to prepare. It depends on your choice which way you like to cook/bake. In India, every state has it's own traditional recipe which is full of taste,aroma and nutrition. It is very common & popular street-side food in India. This recipe is good for lunch,dinner and special treat's for party. So lets start preparing litti chokha ki recipe with me///
Servings : 4-5
- Roasted Chana/Sattu flour : 1 cup
- Onion : 1/2(chopped)
- Chilli : 1(sliced)
- Ginger : 1/4 inch(sliced)
- Garlic : 2 pieces(sliced)
- Coriander : 2 branches(chopped)
- Mustard oil : 2-3 tablespoon
- Dry mango powder : 1 teaspoon
- Salt :1 teaspoon(as per taste)
- Potato : 4(boiled)
- Peas : 1/2 cup(frozen)
- Cumin seed/Jeera : 1 teaspoon
- Green Chilli : 1 (sliced)
- Ginger : 1/4 inch(sliced)
- Turmeric powder : 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder : 1/2 teaspoon
- Meat masala : 1/4 teaspoon
- Garam masala : 1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves : 2 branches(chopped)
- Wheat flour : 3 cups
- Salt : 1 teaspoon
- Ajwain/Carom seeds : 1teaspoon
- Water : 300 ml (as required for making dough)
- Oil : 2 tbsp
- Boiled potato : 4 (mashed)
- Aubergine/Baingan : 1 ( raoasted)
- Tomato : 2 (roasted)
- Green coriander : 3-4 branches (chopped)
- Ginger : 1/2 inch (chopped)
- Garlic : 2-3 cloves (chopped)
- Onion : 1 ( chopped)
- Green chilli : 1 ( chopped)
- Salt : 1-2 tsp (as per taste)
- Mustard oil : 2-3 tbsp
- Dry mango powder : 1 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder : 1/2 teaspoon
- For making first type of filling for take sattu and roast it for 5-6 minutes and if you don't have sattu take roasted chana and grind it in grinder. Your sattu flour is ready. After- that add all above ingredients with sattu flour/chana flour in a bowl. Mix properly and keep aside.
- Second type of filling take boiled potatoes in a plate, cut it. Heat oil in pan, Mix jeera/cumin seed,green chilli & ginger saute for 30 sec. Then add all above spices(cumin powder,red chilli powder,turmeric powder, gram masala,meat masala) in oil. Cook for 30-40 sec then add potoatoes,peas & green coriander. Mix properly and cook for 5-6 minutes. It ia ready.
- For Chokha you have you take boiled potatoes in bowl, then mix roasted tomato and baingan. Then mix chopped ginger,garlic,onion,red chilli powder,dry mango powder, oil and salt. Mix properly. Your Chokha is ready.
- For making Litti take wheat flour in bowl. Mix salt,oil,carom seeds and water and make a smooth dough. Dough is ready.
- Make small bolls from dough then spread it in circle from your fingers, after- that fill potato filling/sattu filling.
- After-that put all BATI ,S in a baking tray then brush with deshi ghee then place it in preheated oven. Bake for 200 Degree Celsius for 45-50 minutes.
- After baking apply deshi ghee on Bati then serve hot Litti/Bati with Choka. This is very tasty and oil free vegan recipe.
