Matar Paneer Recipe is one of the most popular north Indian dish. Most of the people prepare this recipe for special occasion like festivals(Such as Diwali, Holi etc.), parties and also in marriages. In india, it is also called Matar Panner Sabzi. Paneer(cheese) is high in protein, for vegetarian, this is much needed for protein requirement. Everybody make this recipe their own way .The main ingredient of this recipe is Indian Paneer(cheese) and Matar(peas). It is very delicious recipe which is full of protein and nutrients .You can serve it with pulao rice, paratha bread, puri or naan bread. It is also a kind of puri Recipe. Everybody can made this recipe from basic ingredients of their kitchen and It will give you taste like restaurant style. So lets start making this delicious recipe. Ingredients list given below////

Ingredients list for matar paneer recipe:

For Tomato puree:
  • Tomato : 2 ( sliced)
  • Onion : 2 (sliced)
  • Garlic : 4-5 (sliced)
  • Ginger : 1 inch (sliced)
  • Poppy Seeds :1 small spoon (soaked) 5-6 hours
  • Cashew : 5-6 pieces
  • Cumin seeds : 1/2 teaspoon
Spices and Other Ingredients list for  matar paneer recipe:
  • Bay leaf : 2 pieces
  • Large Cardamom : 1 (badi ilaichi)
  • Red Chilli Powder : 1/2 teaspoon
    Spices
  • Coriander Powder : 3/4 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder : 1 teaspoon
  • Curry masala : 1 teaspoon
  • Meat masala : 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala : 1 teaspoon
  • Oil : 3 tablespoon
  • Butter : 1 tablespoon
  • Matar (Peas) : 150  gm(boiled)
    Peas
  • Green Coriander : 2-3 branches (chopped)
  • Paneer Cubes : 250 gm 
  • Water : 2 cups
  • salt : 1& 1/2 teaspoon(as per taste)
Method for matar paneer recipe
  • Take a pan/wok heat 1 tablespoon oil/ butter, add 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds,saute cumin until they splutter.
  •  Then saute sliced garlic, ginger and onion for 3-4 minutes and after that add cashew. Fry it for 2 minutes and then add tomato and saute it  for 2 more minutes. Now turn the flame/hob off, let it cool.
    Tomato-chopped
  • Take mixer grinder put all the things inside add soaked poppy seeds,grind it. Your puree is ready.
  • Take a pan, add 1 teaspoon oil ,saute Paneer pieces  until it becomes brown. Keep aside in plate/bowl.
    Paneer
  • Take same wok/pan for making gravy for Matar Paneer Recipe. Add large cardamom, bay leaf and all dry spices. Stir it very well, keep pan flame medium. Add tomato puree, let it cook for 10 to 12 minutes at medium flame.
    Masala
  • Add Matar (peas) in gravy, let it cook for 5 more minutes. Add Paneer pieces properly in gravy and mix water after 2 mins and mix it properly. Cook it for 5-7 minutes. Your delicious Matar Paneer is ready to serve

  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with Paratha,Puri,Pulao or Naan.

Pulao Rice with :                             
  • You can make Pulao rice with minimal kitchen ingredients. Take 1 bay leaf,3-4 cloves,cumin seeds, large cardamom,1 cup soaked rice (for 15 minutes) and butter/oil.
  • Heat Cooker/Steel pot add 1/2 teaspoon oil add bay leaf ,cumin seeds,cardamom and cloves. Saute for 1-2 minutes add rice fry it for 3-4 minutes.
  •  Add 2 cup water in pressure cooker and wait for 3-4 whistles (9 to 10 minutes). Your Pulao rice is ready for serving.
  • Serve it with your favorite curry recipe  or cucumber raita.
